Dr Nishat Bansal received his medical degree from JJM Medical College, Davangere, Karnataka affiliated to the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Karnataka. After completing his post- graduation in Ophthalmology from Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh, he persued his special interest in retina and did his super-specialization (Vitreoretinal Fellowship in Retina) from none other that the Sankara Nethralya, Chennai. 

He also did his fellowship from the International council of Ophthalmology (FICO) from United Kingdom. 

Dr Nishat Bansal is also a visiting vitreo-retina Consultant at various reputed eye hospitals in and around Chandigarh. 

His special love for the blinding disease of newborns i.e Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) makes him a Visiting ROP specialist at various NICUs in the Tricity. 

Dr Nishat Bansal was confronted with a Gold Medal and ET Selvan Award for Best Poster in All India Ophthalmological Society in 2015 for his work on a blinding Disease of elderly people known as Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy which is very easily mistaken for Age related macular Degeneration.

He is a Life Member of various renowned Ophthalmological Societies in India like the All India Ophthalmological Society, North Zone Ophthalmological Society, Chandigarh Ophthalmological Society and Vitreo- retinal Society, India. 

He has various publications in national and international Journals. He has presented at various conferences and CMEs and is invited as guest lecture at local level conferences.
